Las opiniones del Señor Spector no son pertinentes en el caso de Honduras ( español e inglés)

Recientemente esta circulando un informe al Gobierno de Estados Unidos por parte del Señor Spector, quien justifica la represión y los abusos a los derechos humanos por parte de la policía, el ejército y los órganos del gobierno ilegitimo de Honduras, argumentando de que los “manifestantes son revoltosos y violentos”. Pero lo que este señor no explica es que el gobierno norteamericano es casi el único gobierno que acompañó el golpe de estado y al sostenimiento de los golpistas hondureños y sus continuadores del golpe de estado surgidos a partir de unas elecciones ilegitimas, manipuladas y muy mentirosas y que ellos como Gobierno Norteamericano se empecinan en seguir reconociendo como legal.

Lo que el Señor Spector no dice, es que el gobierno hondureño dentro del entorno del golpe sustrajo ilegalmente de los fondos del Instituto Nacional de Previsión del Magisterio Nacional (INPREMA) cantidades millonarias de dinero que destino a fines no presupuestados para asignarlos en actos de corrupción y traspasarlos a diferentes actores involucrados en el golpe de estado y que ahora, se enfrenta a la realidad de tener que responder por ellos. Este es el punto por el que el magisterio y el pueblo hondureño defienden con manifestaciones pacíficas en las calles y que se vuelven violentas precisamente por intermediación violenta de la misma policía aun en situaciones donde no amerita la represión violenta, como en los casos que todo mundo a sido capaz de apreciar como por ejemplo en las agresiones sufridas por varios periodistas y que han sido ampliamente documentadas por la televisión nacional no golpista.

Por otra parte el gobierno ilegitimo hondureño sostenido en el poder con el apoyo muy decidido del gobierno norteamericano, esta utilizando en contra del pueblo de Honduras en su conjunto una doble y hasta triple represión:

1. La represión bruta y cruda en las calles por parte de una policía y un ejército ilegítimos.
2. La emisión de leyes en contra del pueblo que vienen a eliminar las conquistas sociales del pueblo hondureño en cuanto a seguro social, jubilaciones, calidad de la educación porque con las nuevas leyes que se están emitiendo ahora cualquiera puede ser profesor en Honduras, el incremento desmedido de los combustibles y el no cumplimiento de las normas de calidad, la expropiación de las tierras de los campesinos, etc.
3. La entrega de los recursos y oportunidades del territorio y del pueblo hondureño a cambio del reconocimiento internacional y cuyos recursos obtenidos seguramente irán a parar a la corrupción y al barril sin fondo de la policía y del ejercito represores hondureños y no a los programas que vengan a mejorar la calidad de vida del pueblo hondureño.

Es por eso que como pueblo hondureño apreciamos sobremanera las manifestaciones de solidaridad, expresadas por algunos sectores y organizaciones del pueblo norteamericano que han manifestado y realizado acciones concretas a favor del pueblo hondureño, así como la ejecución de acciones de reclamo ante el Gobierno Norteamericano, que se empecina en seguir manteniendo financieramente y que aboga por el reconocimiento internacional del gobierno de Honduras a todas luces ilegitimo, cuyo proceso de imposición, no pudo ser avalado ni siquiera por los mismos organismos éticos de Estados Unidos, como es el caso del Centro Carter que manifestó, la no existencia de condiciones para la realización de unas elecciones legales y transparentes en Honduras después del golpe de estado, perpetrado en el 2009.

The opinions of Mr. Spector don't reflect Honduran reality

A letter is currently circulating in which Mr. Spector writes [ccing] U.S. government officials, justifying repression and human rights abuses carried out by the Honduran police, the military and the agents of the illegitimate Honduran government, arguing that the protesters are violent. But what he does not explain is that the government of the United States is nearly the only government that supported the coup and the Honduran golpistas and the coup's successors put in place through illegitimate, manipulated and fraudulent elections and that the U.S. government only continues to sully itself by continuing to recognize [Lobo's government] as legitimate.

What Mr. Spector does not say is that the Honduran government, over the course of the coup, illegally liquidated the National Teachers Pension Fund (INPREMA), emptying it of millions of dollars for activities well outside the budget in acts of corruption, divvying it up among different actors involved in the coup d'etat and that now, they face the reality of having to answer to the teachers. This is the reason why teachers and the Honduran people defend with peaceful protests in the streets; protests that become violent precisely because of the violent attacks carried out by the police themselves even in situations that in no way merit violent repression, as in the cases everyone has witnessed like those of the attacks suffered by numerous journalists that have been widely covered by the non-golpista national television.

The illegitimate Honduran government, maintained in power through the very strong support of the U.S. government, is doubling or even tripling its repression against the Honduran people through:

1. The brutal repression and crude force applied in the streets by an illegitimate police force and army. 
2. Passing laws against the people that are aimed at eliminating the social gains of the Honduran people like social security, pension and retiree rights, and educational quality since the new laws say that anyone can be a teacher in Honduras, the unmitigated increase in gas prices, regulation, protection for campesinos against land expropriation, etc.
3. Selling off the resources of the nation and of the Honduran people in exchange for international recognition and financing that will undoubtedly be earmarked for anti-corruption projects and to the bottomless pit of the repressive Honduran police and military and not for programs that would improve quality of life for Honduran people.

This is why, as the Honduran people, we appreciate above all the demonstrations of solidarity expressed by certain sectors and organizations of the U.S. people that have spoken out and carried out concrete actions against condemning the actions of the U.S. government, which debases itself by continuing to financially prop up and advocate for international recognition of the Honduran government which is clearly illegitimate, and whose imposition was not even supported by the ethical organizations of the United States like the Carter Center which stated clearly that conditions did not exist for transparent, legal elections in Honduras following the coup d'etat carried out in 2009.
